HISTORY OF COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION The Department of Mass Communication was established in 1979, four years the dedication of New Era University. During that time, it was a Program under the College of Arts and Sciences. A number of courses existed with it namely, Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Students were enrolled in a general education system wherein they were taking the general curriculum in their First and Second Years, and they would go on to their different majors in their Third and Fourth Year. The first Mass Communication Class was composed of only twelve students who later became the first graduates of the Program. The CEM Building served as their first school building. Together with the celebration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s Centennial Year, the Mass Communication Program has finally achieved one of its greatest dream – to have this as a College.
